Biografia

Peter Gazzola nasce a Rimini il 18 gennaio 1980, è un artista autodidatta, versatile ed eclettico.

Per eseguire le sue opere, utilizza svariate tecniche e stili appresi nel corso degli anni: spazia dal disegno alla pittura, dalla scultura (marmo, bronzo, ferro, legno, ceramica, resina..) alla fotografia (sia nella tecnica classica della pellicola sia nelle nuove tecnologia digitali), nella Computer Art e nei New Media.

Trae ispirazione sia dalla Storia che da fatti di attualità, inerenti alla Politica, Cultura, Scienza, Sport, ecc. utilizzando alle volte un linguaggio dissacrante e ironico in una sorta di Vox Populi artistica.

In una performance del 2006 ha messo al rogo molte delle sue opere e nel 2007 viene pubblicato il suo primo libro “L’Arte Contemporanea.. Bruciamola!” (Christian Maretti Editore).

Ha esposto sia in Italia che all’estero, è presente nel “Catalogo degli Scultori Italiani” e sul “Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna”, entrambi di Mondadori (2009). Nel 2009, presso Edzna, in Messico, è stato protagonista di uno “straordinario” ritrovamento: 2 Teschi di Cristallo, con grande probabilità, risalenti all’antica Civiltà dei Maya.

Il Critico d’Arte Manuele Scagliola lo definisce così in una sua citazione: “Nell’era della specializzazione forzata, dove ci si fossilizza ad occuparsi di un solo argomento, di un solo lavoro ripetuto all’infinito, risulta sempre più raro trovare persone in grado di destreggiarsi in ogni direzione con tanta leggerezza ed entusiasmo. E Peter Gazzola sembra esser nato sotto il segno della poliedricità, riuscendo ad occuparsi (difficile non ricordare l’eclettismo dei grandi maestri del Rinascimento) di ogni tecnica artistica: disegno, pittura, scultura, ceramica, fotografia, scrittura. L’artista non dovrebbe conoscere limiti, la sua creatività dovrebbe valicare ogni frontiera, sperimentando, trovando nuove strade, nuovi materiali, fino a diventare una forza incontrollabile della natura”.

Biography

Peter Gazzola was born in Rimini January 18, 1980, he is a self-taught artist, versatile and eclectic.

To perform his works, using various techniques and styles learned over the years: ranges from drawing to painting, from sculpture (marble, bronze, iron, wood, ceramic, resin ..) to photography (both in the classic technique of the film is in the new digital technology), in Painting and New Media.

It inspired both by history that current events, related to Politics, Culture, Science, Sports, etc .by using an irreverent and ironic language to bring out a sort of atistical Vox Populi.

In a 2006 performance he burned many of his works and in 2007 was published his first book “Contemporary Art .. Let’s send it to the Stake!” (Christian Maretti Editore).

He has exposed his works in Italy and abroad, some of them are published in the “Catalogue of Italian Sculptors” and “Modern Art Catalogue”, both Mondadori (2009).
In 2009, near Edzna, Mexico, P.G. was the protagonist of an “extraordinary” discovery: 2 Crystal Skulls, most probably dating back to the ancient Mayan civilization.

The Art Critic Manuele Scagliola defines the artist in its citation: “In a period when high specialisation is imposed, when artists are asked to deal with one single subject, with the continuous repetition of one single work – it has become very rare to find someone who can manage so many techniques, and with such simplicity and enthusiasm. Peter Gazzola seems to have a multifaceted nature as he can use every sort of technique – drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, writing, which remember the versatility typical of the great Renaissance masters. The artist shouldn’t have limits, his creativity should be free to cross every sort of boundary, to experiment and find new ways, new materials, until it becomes an uncontrollable force of nature.”
